Supervision and Consultancy

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy

Clinical supervision is an essential part of CBT practice and is a requirement of professional bodies (e.g. British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP), British Psychological Society (BPS)), whether you are working in private practice, the NHS or in training towards accreditation yourself.

As an accredited CBT therapist, I provide a range of supervision and consultation opportunities, including face-to-face supervision, telephone/Skype supervision and group supervision. I also offer one-off case consultation and intense supervision of single training cases.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

As an experienced MBCT instructor, meeting UK Network Guidelines for Trainers of Mindfulness-Based Teachers, I regularly supervise teachers of the MBCT programme. Formative feedback on recordings of teaching practice can be provided (using the Mindfulness-Based Interventions Teaching Assessment Criteria, Crane et al., 2016), as can mentorship of personal meditation practice for those teaching MBCT professionally.

How many people are looking for supervision?
How long would you like your supervision sessions to be?
At what frequency?
When do you want to start
What level of training or experience in CBT/MBCT does each person to be supervised have? (e.g. 1 Beginner, 2 Intermediates):
‘Beginners’ level refers to those with little or no formal CBT/MBCT training
‘Intermediate' level refers to some knowledge of CBT/MBCT and some experience in using cognitive formulations & treatment methods - for instance knowledge of cognitive models of depression and anxiety, able to identify & test automatic thoughts and design behavioural experiments.
‘Advanced’ level means people who use CBT/MBCT routinely as part of their clinical practice. They have undertaken a significant number of training courses / workshops & routinely use a broad range of CBT/MBCT strategies to work with a range of presentations at varying levels of complexity
Are you looking for ‘general’ CBT/MBCT supervision or are there specific topics, or areas of expertise, that you require? If so, what?
